Following last year, the Second JAPA VIETNAM Charity Concert was held on the 4th of March (Sun), from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Yotsuya, Tokyo. With about 120 attendants, we all enjoyed Vietnamese children's dance, the music of Dan Bau and Dan Tranh. We felt the air of Vietnam.

The concert began with the greetings of Mr. ANDO Isamu, the representative of JAPA VIETNAM. Then the ventriloquism of Mr. KANAYA followed, which invited vigorous laughter of children. The program went on with Okinawa Folk Songs by Ms. MATSUSHITA Miki, singing of Ms. Ko Geiou to her own piano accompaniment. The Vietnamese children's dance and the Cecilia Choir performed next. The children danced one each of both north and south traditional dance. The last program of the first half was a slide show to introduce the activities of JAPA VIETNAM. We asked for contributions from the audience to support our activities.

The program of the last half was centered on instrumental music. The Physical Works of a popular song group sang Con Kenh Xanh Xanh (Blue River), Cay Truc Xinh (Beautiful Bamboo), Loi Me Ru (Mother's Lullaby), Mot Buoi Mua Xuan (A Spring Morning).

We invited a special guest, Mr. Hai Trieu, who made a CD debut last year. He sang two songs. The program finished with singing Con Kenh Xanh Xanh by all the musicians together with the audience.

It was not easy to organize the concert since we were inexperienced in this field. When it started, however, we enjoyed it so much that the time passed very fast. We will try to do our best to organize more concerts.
